The Monarch Living Room Stage is back at Waterfront Wednesday.
This month we’re going Bluegrass!

The Monarch Music & Arts Community is partnering with Louisville Public Media/WFPK/Waterfront Parks and our May Sponsor to bring something truly special to Waterfront Wednesday in May. 
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of the band… this is your moment.

Here’s the idea: we’ve put together a setlist of Bluegrass standards, complete with key signatures and a Spotify playlist so you can listen and learn before you arrive. Then at 5 o’clock, we all show up… instruments in hand… and play music… TOGETHER! Same songs, same time, right on the waterfront. The band leads, the crowd plays along, and some lucky folks will get invited up on stage.

Leading the Bluegrass Evolution Jam from the stage are The Bibelhauser Brothers, joined by extra special guest, Grammy Award winner Michael Cleveland! Yup, we’re not messing around, there’s world class musicians on stage!

Plus, our friends at the Louisville Folk School will be joining us and bringing their instrument petting zoo! Maybe you’ve never picked up a banjo, fiddle, or mandolin before? Now's your chance… come get your hands on something new and find out what you've been missing. 

This isn’t just a waterfront concert, it’s a community jam session and you’re invited! Bring your instrument, find your people, be part of something spontaneous and special… the Waterfront Bluegrass Band.
Music brings us together! Be there or be square.

Learn the tunes in advance, bring your instrument, and play along with the band. All levels of pickers and players are welcome. Select guests from the crowd may be invited up on stage for a song.
